AMERICAN STUDENT PRESENTATIONS
Vermont is located in the northeastern region of America. Vermont is one of the least populated states in America with a population of a little more than 600,000. Within Vermont is the small town of Barre with nearly 15,000 people. Much of Vermont's land is used for agriculture with many farms for corn, cattle, pigs, and chickens. Furthermore, Vermont is well known for its maple syrup. This is a sugary sweetner made from the sap of maple trees. Canada borders Vermont's north and New York City sits 450 kilometers to the south. However, unlike most students in Thailand who have visited Bangkok (one of the world's most dynamic cities), most students in Barre, Vermont, have not visited New York City. Vermont is a beautiful state. The Green Mountains stretch from north to south. The highest peaks are roughly 1200 meters, or 4000 feet. The large Lake Champlain serves as Vermont’s western border.
